Urban Immersion

Location: Houston, Texas
Date (Short-Term): August 13 – May 17, 2019
Date (Semester): August 13 – May 17, 2019
Cost: Your Meals

Joining the ministry team at MCH will immerse you in urban ministry in the fastest growing metropolitan area in the US. You will form friendships with our under-resourced neighbors of all ages through food pantries; clothing closets, clubs for each age, Bible Studies & Evangelistic outreaches.

You will serve in an inner city setting, leading clubs for children and youth, providing food and clothing, helping with a senior adult ministry, serving the homeless and making home visits. Sorting clothes, unloading food trucks, stocking shelves, and doing yard work are other potential ways to serve our community. You may also lead visiting youth and adult volunteer groups in their mission trips and represent us at partner churches. As you are challenged in numerous ways, you will develop as a leader and a disciple and see your vision, heart, and skills for missions grow exponentially which will equip you for an unending missional lifestyle.

The students will have a devotion with Pastor Scott Capshaw. There are also Bible studies which the students can attend as well as Sunday worship. We meet with the students one on one for mentoring. We have a group staff meeting once a week to touch base and to pray together each week.

Willing to take Baptist and non-Baptist students that are active in their campus BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministries) and attend an evangelical church.
